CAPS Teacher Education
CAITLIN HOY

My name is Caitlin Hoy, and I am a future Special Education Teacher. I attend Blue Valley High School as my home high school, but I also attend Blue Valley CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) for the Teacher Education program. I have gained more confidence and love for teaching from this program. I will be attending Kansas State University in the fall of 2019 to study Elementary and Special Education.
At my home high school, I also am involved in the connections class. It is a peer turning class, teaching students social connecting skills. I am also involved in a leadership class along with our schools yearbook class. I love being involved because I want to make a difference unpeoples lives and just always love getting my feet wet in trying new things. I am excited for my journey ahead and to continue my dream to work with special needs students.
Outside of school, I babysit a lot. I love children and getting the chance to play and take care of kids. I am the youngest in my family. I have an older sister who is a senior at The University of Arkansas, I have two loving parents who support me in everything I do, and I have a spunky Shih Zu named Rascal.

In the future, I hope to change the world and do something spectacular. Being able to experience what I have through CAPS is something not everyone gets. I am very thankful for the opportunity and I am excited to where the teaching journey takes me.
